25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION May 16 - 17, 2009

PACERS FOR LIFE! CLASSIC CAR LOVERS FOR LIFE!

On Saturday,, May 16th, a very first “Show ad Shine” Classic Car Show was held from 8 a.m. to 12 Noon, on the lawn across the street from Grant High. Fifty-seven classic cars were entered to show by Alumni, family, friends, and car clubs. A 50-50 Raffle was held at the end of the show, which proved most successful to the winners and the Alumni Association. Robert Hill ‘48, proudly took home “Best of Show” with his 1940 Mercury Club Convertible.

  Janie Briner Felkins ‘56 and Bob Felkins ‘53 were awarded a plaque for the “Alumni Favorite” in showing their beautiful cars as seen below: Their 1956 T- Bird, 1930 Model A Roadster, and their 1931 Ford A400.  
  Donuts and coffee were sold by Grant’s Cheer Leaders for a money maker, and hot dogs and hamburgers were sold by a Sandwich Shop in Rio Linda.  
     
   
  Our special thanks to all who helped with the show, entered their cars, attended and took part in any way.  
 

Many comments were heard in favor of another car show in the future!

 
         
 

JOYCE CLIFFORD, CLASS OF 1950, IN CONCERT

 
  Our heartfelt thanks to our very own Joyce Clifford who presented a lovely concert on the George Wright Memorial Theater Pipe Organ in the Grant Auditorium, celebrating the 25th Alumni Anniversary. It was a beautiful way to end our 2 day celebration, bringing back many memories of Joyce presenting her many concerts and programs at Grant High. Thank you Joyce for keeping our treasured pipe organ at Grant alive and well!
